Bright Blessings and best wishes for a Happy Spring!
Spring is always my favorite season. It feels filled with possibility and expansiveness and cheery optimism. I find it impossible not to delight watching the first of the flowers begin poking their leaves out from the ground. It seems like such an unlikely miracle when you think about it. And then there are the lovely antics of birds searching for mates and thinking of building Springtime nests. Did you know that one of the obscure definitions of valentine is birds singing to one another? It’s too soon for trees to be budding here yet, but that only-in-Spring green of newly hatching leaves is such an incredible color. I fall in love with it again every single year.
This year especially I feel in need of renewal – and I welcome the fresh promising energy of Spring. Perhaps it’s only me, but I suspect it’s true more collectively as well. So I’m particularly taking to heart these words of Hafiz:
“Spring and all its flowers
now joyously break their vow of silence.
It is time for celebration, not for lying low;
You too — weed out those roots of sadness from your heart.”
I wish you a Spring filled with joy and magic and much to celebrate.
