Once again this year, Niki of The Richness of a Simple Life has issued a Kindness Challenge inviting people to focus on kindness for seven weeks. She’ll be offering a weekly prompt and encouraging people work with it and then post a reflection of their experience. It starts Monday May 7. If you’re inspired, please consider joining us.
Before we officially get started next week, she’s invited us to set an intention.
With all projects I think it can be particularly helpful to set the container and consciously invite in the energies we’re invoking. I like to think of it as marking our place on the map. In fact I like to think of it as an energetic address. Having established a point of reference, we can use it to check to see where we are – if we’re headed in the right direction or have managed to lose our way and need to do some course correcting.
For some time now I have publicly declared myself aligned with Pronoia author Rob Brezsny’s philosophy, when he declares:
“We are dissident bodhisattvas rebelling against all those forces that feed fear and ignore love.”
I think that’s a beautiful invitation and that’s certainly the intention with which I choose to navigate in this world.
I think kindness is a big part of this journey and I look forward to all the ways we’ll notice and practice it in this seven week challenge. I believe there is exponentially more room for kindness in this world and we all can all do more to contribute.
I don’t think anyone would argue that these are challenging times collectively. And I strongly believe each one of us can either be a strong light of love, compassion and kindness, or we can add, either consciously or inadvertently to the fear and chaos in the world. I know what I choose. And I happily stand with other kindreds across this planet. Now is the time. We were born for this.
Amen to that! Looking forward to reading about your experiences in this adventure of kindness.
Thanks Kathleen. And I’ll be looking forward to reading about your most exciting upcoming adventure. Good luck and best wishes!
Some very wise words and I hope to be learning more by taking part in this Challenge. Looking forward to reading future posts on this topic as well as discovering more about myself and how to improve daily living on Planet Earth 🙂

I’m looking forward to it as well and love the little community that’s growing around it. I trust we’ll all be learning lots as we immerse ourselves consciously in these kindness energies. Big wins for us all I suspect.
We certainly could use more kindness in this world! Yes, we must love one another…or as an old saying goes…”kill ’em with kindness”!
LOL – I think we’ll opt for energizing, uplifting, and vitalizing one another with kindness.
ha ha…yes of course! I’m all for it! Let’s go!
Aloha Spirit
What a wonderful intention for our Kindness Challenge. I am looking forward to traveling the kindness challenge with you.
I have no doubt we’ll be in for a lovely and thoughtful time Wanda.
