In April I’m going to be playing in the month-long Blogging from A-to-Z challenge, an annual challenge that hundreds of bloggers participate in. Given that I love creating abecedariums I simply can’t resist.
Today we’ve been encouraged to “reveal” our theme – what we’ll be spending our month writing about.
I’m going to invite you to come along as I head on a Fool’s journey (think tarot’s Fool), writing about what curiosities have captured my attention; what I’m loving in the moment; what I’m tripping over as I skip along on my joy path. All in alphabetical order of course.
Given that we start April by celebrating the Fool it just seemed natural to invite this energy along for the rest of the month as well. And given that I’ve got a crazy busy month planned, including being away on retreat for 8 days during April, it seems somewhat foolish to even attempt the challenge. So there I am playing in the Fool energy already. But Fool is nothing if not open and full of potential and that’s exactly the kind of energy I want to be playing in in April. I do hope you’ll join me. And consider joining the A-to-Z challenge yourself – there’s still time to sign up here.
What energies do you want to be inviting into April? What does Fool represent to you? Love the Fool archetype, or do you have another favorite? Have a favorite Tarot deck? What possibilities and potentials feel like they’re opening up to you? Do tell – you know I love to hear. There are no foolish answers.
Sounds like a fun theme. I’ve used Tarot cards before and have my own deck. 🙂

LOL – indeed you do Chrys.
Yeah, I have a deck (Tarot of a Moon Garden) and a book and I did not look at it for a very long time. My favorite card is the Queen of Pentacles. I think the prosperity and well being is waiting for me.
I’m looking forward to your daily posts during April. You can do them ahead of time and schedule to publish on a certain day. That’s what I do ☺.
Evalina, This and that…
I’m not familiar with that deck Evalina – I’ll have to have a peek. Here’s to limitless prosperity and well-being for you to enjoy.
I’m looking forward to following your posts in April.
Have fun. It will be very busy for all of us. I need lots of positive energy during the coming month.
Lots of good wishes – and thanks for stopping by.
I know I will learn much by following you in April, Deborah!
It’s going to be a fun month for all of us I’m sure.
My favorite Tarot deck is the Mythical Goddess Tarot. One of the reasons I like it so much is that they incorporate astrology into it. Sounds like we may have a few things in common and I’ll definitely be back to check out your A to Z posts. =)
Thanks Morgan. I’m looking forward to your posts as well.
Hi. Looks like you have got a lot going on during April!
My sister is very interested in Tarot cards, so i have a rough idea what some of them are about, I look forward to learning more from your posts 🙂
Looking forward to your posts as well Edwina. And thanks for stopping by and saying hi.
This sounds fascinating. Telling stories with archetype-packed arrays of symbols (like Tarot) hits on something very deep. I can’t wait to see where the Fool leads us.
Thanks Cygnus. I’m looking forward to the journey as well. Looking forward to your posts too.
The Fool’s energy! What could be more appropriate for the beginning of April! Lovely post Deborah thank you and I’ll be following with curiousity! Enjoy your retreat 🙂
Thanks Susan. And I’m certainly looking forward to your series about dreams. April is going to be fun!
Fool! I love the Fool because I love Tricksters, and every story that has to do with Tricksters 🙂 Fun theme!

Yay for all the Fools and Tricksters!
This could be entertaining, so far you’ve got a unique theme, I’ve not run across that in my blog visits. I’m trying to get all my posts written, got a-m done ahead so I can spend the month visiting, though I’ve started visiting 5 blogs daily from the linky since joining. Enjoy your travels and the challenge.
Oh how productive and resourceful of you Sandy. Thanks for stopping by and for the encouragement.
Fun and interesting! Looking forward to your posts, Deborah! 🙂
Thanks Shalini. Looking forward to yours as well.
First time visiting your blog and I love your beautiful title graphics. I used the Fool card as a second plot point in my novel. It’s such an interesting card. I can’t wait to see what you do with it during A to Z. Rich territory, indeed. You have a lot to work with.
Thanks for stopping by Stephanie. I look forward to the release of your novel, and of course to following your challenge posts. And I agree, the Fool is rich character indeed.
Sounds like a really fun month. I’ll definitely be following your ABC’s! I’m doing one too in April, called April Love.
Thanks Janet – I think it’s going to be a delightful month too. And a series on April Love sounds wonderful – I’ll be there.
Sounds like a fun theme even though I know barely anything about Tarot cards. But Fools are always interesting – at least they dare to be different.
Indeed, and I’m hoping this Fool leads us on a fun and interesting journey. Thanks so much for stopping by and saying hi.
This sounds like fun. Looking forward to your posts!
Thanks Mary. I think it’s going to be a fun month for us all.
Good luck to you during April! During your retreat, just write your posts ahead of time and you’ll be fine!

Thanks Katie, I’m going to do that.
I love the idea of an A to Z blog challenge. I may join you. The Fool represents lightness, laughter, joy, play, not taking myself so seriously. I am so curious about your eight day retreat Deborah. I would love to hear more about it. Thanks for this fun post!
Oh it would be fun if you joined the challenge Nancy, and I love your take on Fool. I’m sure I’ll be posting about my retreat later as well – I always come away from it with so many gifts.
The Fool can be a lot of fun, but when he’s about to walk off a cliff, it’s time to stop following him. The most important function of the Fool is to speak truth to power in a funny way–he punches up, while the Bully punches down.
That’s a wonderful way to articulate speaking truth to power – punching up.
What a fun idea! Interested to see what you come up with!
Thanks. Looking forward to playing. And I”m glad you stopped by.
How fun!!! I always enjoy your posts, these will be fantastic! Have a great time at your retreat. Hopefully you will write about that when you return right?
Thanks Elda. No doubt I’ll have lots to share after my retreat, but in the meantime I’m looking forward to my month with Fool.
