Once again this April I’m going to be joining hundreds of others playing in the month-long Blogging from A-to-Z Challenge, the annual event that invites bloggers to write their way through the alphabet. Given my penchant for creating abecedariums, how can I resist?
Today we’ve been encouraged to “reveal” our theme – what we’ll be spending our month writing about.
I’ve been talking for quite some time about my love for manifestos and the fact that I’ve never written one. But here’s a glorious opportunity for me to write not one, but 26 of them! Or maybe just one with 26 sections. But in any case by the end of April you’ll have a pretty clear idea of what I love; what I believe; what I’m committed to. Of course if you’ve been hanging around here for a while you’ll already know one of the things I love is words, particularly unusual words, so I’m going to up the challenge factor and try to base my entries on unusual words that delight me. Sounds like fun doesn’t it?
I certainly hope you’ll stick around and hear me out – a good manifesto needs an audience don’t you think?
And I hope you’ll consider playing along as well. There’s still time to join here, and you know I’d love to read your abecedarium.
Have you ever written a manifesto? Have something you want to declare with passion? Do tell – you know I’d love to hear.
Very interesting take on the A to Z Challenge. Great idea to write your manifesto. Best of luck with it! 🙂
Thanks Misha.
Love your abecedariums! Looking forward to it. I may give one a try myself!

I’m looking forward to your month of unusual words. You’ve already got a great start with manifesto. That’s not a word you hear a lot these days. Wishing you a wonderful challenge month!
Thanks Deb. Wishing you a wonderful challenge month as well. There’s lots of fun afoot I think!
This sounds awesome. I love villains and anti-heroes.
Words I meant word. I was just on a different blog that had that theme. Sorry.
No problem Djinnia. There’s lots of fascinating topics being covered and lots of visits to make. It’s going to be a fabulous April!

Thanks Stepheny. And I look forward to seeing you in April.
Sounds really interesting! It’ll be fun to see how many interesting words you can come up with. Happy blogging!
Happy blogging to you as well Megan!
ooh, a manifesto! I love that idea. Everyone should have a good manifesto at least once in their lives. This gets me thinking. Maybe I should write one… after April. 🙂
I’d love to read yours Jen! After April of course. And in the meantime I’ll be enjoying your challenge posts. Happy April!
What a great theme! I have always wanted to write a manifesto too. I would have to write one every year, I change too much. Good luck!
LOL – I think that’s perfect Doreen!
I don’t think I’ve ever written a manifesto, but I can be counted on for a good rant now and then.
Thanks for visiting my blog today! I’ll see you during the Challenge.
LOL. A proper rant can be good for the soul!
In my mind manifestos was for politicians… I’m sure there is much more to it… A unique theme indeed. Looking forward to your posts.. 🙂
Manifestos certainly have been widely associated with politics, but I always find it interesting when people declare boldly and publicly what they value and what’s important to them. Wishing you a fun challenge Archana!
This one sounds fun, and seems really popular. Can’t wait to see what words you come up with.
We can never have too many words can we? 🙂 Looking forward to your posts as well Rhonda.
What a great theme! Good luck with your manifesto. Look forward to reading it.
Thanks Gulara. We’re in for a fabulous month I think!
What an impressive endeavor! I find manifestos to be fascinating and can’t wait to read yours, as I love your work generally!
Thanks for the kind words Stephanie! There IS something fascinating about manifestos isn’t there? Wishing you a wonderful April and a fabulous challenge.
Great idea for the April challenge, Deborah! I keep a copy of K. M. Weiland’s Wordplayer’s Manifesto (http://www.helpingwritersbecomeauthors.com/wordplayers-manifesto/) next to my desk so when I’m writing and get stuck, it pushes me forward again. I look forward to seeing what you come up with!
What a great manifesto – thanks for pointing it out Amy. Wishing you a fabulous challenge, and hopefully you’ll get to do some writing outdoors.
Such a unique idea! I’ve never considered writing a manifesto but I may after observing your journey! Will definitely be back!
Thanks for stopping by my blog! Great to meet you. I’m collecting blogs for my April journey and love the plethora of ideas. This is going to be a blast!
Thanks for returning the visit Yolanda. I agree, I think April will indeed be a blast. And I hope you do create a manifesto!
What a great idea! I can’t wait to follow along. What a great idea!
Thanks Vickie!
Off we go, on another Deborah trip through Wonderland! I am doing the challenge and having fun finding SO MANY BLOGGERS! Over 1200 have joined this challenge. Wow.
LOL. Glad you’re coming on the trip Amy. And it really IS awesome isn’t it – so many bloggers, so many treasures!
Really unique idea! I too love unusual words, I think this will be a great mix. Good luck 🙂
Debbie
Thanks for popping by Debbie. I think we’re in for a fun month indeed.
Good luck with your manifestos! See you in April.
Thanks Cynthia! Be seeing you shortly.
With passion and purpose, this could definitely work. I’m more of a court jester than one who gives manifestos.
Hooray for laughter and the court jesters who provide it! Be seeing you in April Tamara and I’ll bring my science hat. Which I hope isn’t mistaken for a dunce cap.
Oooh, words – they’re always fun. Hope you find some good ones.
I’ve got my eyes peeled. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by Jemima, and I look forward to visiting your world(s) in April.
I am so glad you posted about this. Just the push I need to finish updating my site and get back to writing. I think I am going to write an A-Z of awakening authenticity. Whew! Sounds ambitious.
i LOVE your theme, by the way and can’t wait to read your manifestos.
Sounds fabulous! So glad you’re going to play along Cynthia – I look forward to your posts.
Ooohhh….a full month of manifestos. How delightful! Will have to make sure I stop by and check them out.
Always happy to have you visit Elda. Wishing you a wonderful month.
Ya know I had to look ‘manifesto’ up in the dictionary. I’ve heard it used before, but I decided I needed to know more exactly what it entailed. My dictionary stated the definition of manifesto as a ‘public declaration of policy and aims’. I may just need to think on that a bit more and write one of my own….thanks for the inspiration!
You can be sure I’d love to read a manifesto of yours Debbie. Hope you get around to doing one.
