Here we are at the officially sanctioned day of gratitude known as Thanksgiving in the United States. It’s my belief that gratitude and appreciation are some of the most expansive energies you can dance with. Gratitude places you in the joy of the moment, AND it opens the door to welcoming more.
I whole-hearted embrace this wisdom from Connie Kaplan (from her book The Invisible Garment):
“Gratitude is the deep understanding that life is a gift, not a burden or an assignment… When one experiences Gratitude, one remembers the wonder of creation.”
I have so much to be grateful for. So many blessings showered upon me, so much love all around me, so much joy waiting to spark my awareness.
It is my hope the same is true for you as well.
I love the Rumi quote:
“Hear blessings dropping their blossoms around you.”
Isn’t that a beautiful invitation? And isn’t that a time we need to be listening especially closely?
Wonderful post, Friend! I, too, practice gratitude on a daily basis. I like the way you describe it as “expansive energy that you dance with”! Absolutely, true.
The practice of expressing gratitude can railroad any attempt from a negative field of energy driven by ego, trying to infiltrate a peaceable kingdom.
Yes, always, always give thanks.
