Come April, I’ll be joining others in the 15th annual Blogging from A-to-Z Challenge that invites bloggers to write their way through the alphabet. Given my penchant for abecedariums, the draw to participate is almost irresistible for me. I missed last year’s challenge, and in fact, I’ve been on quite a lengthy hiatus from my own blog as well as the blogging universe in general. But this seems like a perfect invitation to dive back in, and so I shall.
Today’s post is the “reveal” of what I’ll be spending April writing about.
Being an unrepentant logophile (lover of words), I’m going to select an alphabet’s worth of what I consider to be delightful and/or interesting words and allow myself to simply muse about whatever they bring up for me. I love giving myself the freedom to free associate and fall down whatever rabbit hole appears for me in the moment, and you’ll get a peek into how my mind works (and wanders).
Likely my word list will include a fair share of obscure, obsolete, foreign, and simply charming-to-me selections. I’m in love with so many words, and there are only 26 letters to cover – what a delicious chore to have to whittle things down to a final list!
While I’m meandering through the alphabet rambling about this or that thing that has captured my fancy, perhaps you’ll find an enchanting word or two that you’ll want to claim as well.
I hope you’ll consider playing in the challenge too. I always look forward to reading my way through the alphabet on an endless variety of topics via a myriad of bloggers. There’s still time to join, and you know I’d love to read your abecedarium.

Your A to Z sounds interesting. I’m wondering if I will know any of the 26 words or will they be totally obscure. I suppose I will find out on April 1. See you then.

Whittling down the list was also the biggest challenge for me this year. I wound up with a couple hundred pieces in my spreadsheet. I was able to cheat and double up with short ones at least. Excited to hopefully learn some interesting new vocab.
