I lead a pretty wonderful life. I accept responsibility for creating what delights me.
This month I agreed to play in a blog challenge where I committed to blogging 20 times during the month. I can do that. I like blogging, and I have lots to talk about and things I want to share. Plus I thought it would be fun to do an abecedarium of things I treasure.
And yet here I am ten days into the month and I’ve blogged five times with only three entries in my abecedarium. Clearly it’s time for reassessment.
Today (well technically yesterday given Australia’s time zone difference) Kat McNally began her August Moon challenge where she offers a daily prompt which folks can use for reflective writing.
The first prompt is “set an intention.”
We’re starting at the full moon (a super moon no less, meaning the moon in its elliptical orbit will be at or near perigee, the closest approach to Earth so it appears bigger than usual). The August full moon is known by many names but the one I’m liking and using is Fruit Moon. It feels like the perfect time and place to set an intention.
My intention is to follow my inspiration. The direction my heart is pointing me. To follow these little joy crumbs on my path and not be pulled off course by habit, or pattern, or confusion. And that means keeping in the now moment as much as possible. Willing to listen to the nuances of the moment and ready to shift. And so I intend to live from that YES place of me. And how amazing will that be? It’s time. It’s what we all came for.
What about you? Have an intention you want to declare? Do tell – you know I love to hear.
My August intention is to be courageous, to wholeheartedly launch my business, to switch from endless planning and preparing and act.
Courageous action becomes Launch and Learn.
Phew !!!!!! that felt good to say.
What a fabulous powerful intention Karen! And so it is.
Get a video made of me talking about customer service.
Good luck!
My August intention is to follow through with all my OTHER intentions, the ones I’ve left dangling in Good Intention Land, lol. If I narrow it down the lynchpin would be following through with a daily meditation practice because when I’m centered EVERYTHING else falls in place.
Thank you for helping me figure that out!
“Good Intention Land”…I love this. And I know right where that is!!!
I’m still snorting over this – totally perfect!
LOL – Good Intention Land. I’m so going to make a map of that. Not that any of us need it. I think we’ve all abandoned enough stuff there to know it’s location by heart. 🙂 But wishing you a month of meditation that really helps keep you centered. Sounds perfect Susan.
My August intention is to say no every once in a while. I’m off to a good start. My son’s travel plans fell through this morning and he asked me to come and pick him up. A good hour and a half round trip. I thought about it and with guilty pleasure tugging at my deepest core said “No.” Quiet reigned for the next hour. Then a text “No worries. Natasha’s dad is getting us.”
Perfect. Makes me more resoved that ever to keep my August intention.
Happy Super Moon!
Perfect Kelly! Saying no can be such a yes to yourself! Consider yourself strongly encouraged and cheered on. I hope you’ll report a string of “no”s by month’s end.
My intention is to finish all projects that have been started and left in limbo…and to do it without buying any more supplies. I have stashes of “stuff” to use up on all sorts of projects, and with my altered books, anything goes. Now, if I only had more time…(the day job gets in the way abit…darn it…) I also intend to blog more. Just gotta DO IT!!!
Have a wonderful Day! Aloha
Love you intention Vicki. And yay for tackling those UFOs (unfinished objects) – doesn’t it feel great when they’re finally done? Or consciously released. But having energy released after having been tied up in stuff can feel so good. Also working with what you have on hand can be such fun. Sometimes I like to just randomly lay out a limited number of things and see what I can make with them.
Wow, I hadn’t heard of the term “Fruit Moon” before but it sounds so juicy, I love it!
Thank you for sharing your journey with us during August Moon, it sounds like it is going to be an amazing one. Following tiny crumbs of joy is an excellent way to go.

I’m grateful to you Kat for offering August Moon prompts. I know this is going to be a wonderful journey. And thanks for stopping by!
Hmmm….intention. My intension is to face fear head on!! Tackle it showing who’s really the boss. LOL…. Yeah that’s it..:)
Yay you Kelli! I kind of like the bene-gesserit mantra from Dune: “I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”
“follow these little joy crumbs” — this just might be one of my most favorite phrases I’ve read in a long time. I am going to write this down and put it on my mirror.
May there always be many for you to follow. And thanks for stopping by to say hello – I appreciate it.
I plan to echo your intention to follow your intuition and what feels good in the moment. 🙂
Good for you Naomi.
