Today we welcome in the equinox, exact at 8:29 pm in my time zone. But these are powerful energies and I’ve been feeling them for days so I’ve already got the door open in greeting.
Isn’t this vintage card image of an apple harvest fabulous?
It just so happens that Lori-Lyn Hurley’s Sacred Beginnings prompts for yesterday and today are BLESSING and YES. Once again it feels like perfect timing for me.
The caption on the card reads “May life bear golden fruit for you this year.”
I think that’s a marvelous invocation and a perfect blessing as we head into this new season.
When I sent out my autumnal equinox greeting cards this year, I included these words from poet Edward Hirsch:
“…every year there is a brief, startling moment
When we pause in the middle of a long walk home and
Suddenly feel something invisible and weightless
Touching our shoulders, sweeping down from the air:
It is the autumn wind pressing against our bodies;
It is the changing light of fall falling on us.”
I know that moment and love it as a blessing. And I receive it with a heart-felt yes.
The seasonal wheel has turned again, and may we enter this new cycle ready to greet all its golden gifts with gratitude and meet all the opportunities from the place of yes deep within us.
