We’ve had a couple really good wind storms this year, and I always find that energy so exciting. I have ever since I was little and imagined I could stand at the top stair on the porch, spread my arms and be lifted off and blown into flight. Alas, real-world physics never cooperated, but that image of flying in the wind still remains strong in my heart and active in my nighttime dreams.
Still, flightless or not, I love to stand in strong wind and feel buffeted about – there really is something energetically cleansing about it. And so I love today’s prompt in Kat McNally’s Reverb15. (And delight in the video!)
What are you going to shake off with fierceness before you enter the new year?
One of the images I’ve used for some time now is that of an etch-a-sketch – where shaking clears the screen. I use it my do-over reminder – that in any moment we can begin anew.
I’m not sure I actually have any specific things I’d like to shake off as I close out 2015. But in the broader energetic sense, I’m ready to fiercely shake off any ways I’m holding thoughts of limitation or lack; any judgments; any negativity and stuck energy; and any ways I’m acting from habit instead of inspiration.
I’m ready to trust that I’ve received and have access to all the gifts of the year, both the things that felt good and beautiful and expansive, and those that felt less so. That I’ve benefited from them all, in getting to know myself more deeply and showing up more clearly in the truth of myself. I trust it’s all mine and can’t be lost, it’s integrated and available.
And so now I can stand in the wind that’s blowing out 2015 and let everything that’s stuck to me simply be carried off as energy to be transformed into new things. How fun to turn up to 2016 all shiny and fresh, ready to absorb new fabulousities, new choices, new adventures. To that I say, yes please!
