I had a lovely outing today to a butterfly habitat at a local museum. It was amazing, filled with a thousand butterflies – 75 different species on any given day.
Being among so many butterflies was really a wondrous experience. It was like stepping into some magical world where everything is brighter and more colorful, more gentle and fleeting. I have no doubt that clinical trials would prove blood pressure rates lower and brainwaves relax in just a matter of moments.
One of my favorite books, a children’s story which I read every year, is set in Mexico amidst the Monarch butterflies annual migration during Los Dias de los Muertos. It’s called Ghost Wings by Barbara Joosse. I can never see a Monarch without thinking of it.
