is for equality
One of the things I believe we’re called to do as we awaken in our conscious spiritual awareness is to consciously dance with unity consciousness. There are a lot of “conscious” words in that sentence, but I don’t see that as a writing flaw. I see that as emphasis that we’re called more and more into interacting with everything more consciously.
Unity consciousness, in my opinion, is expanding awareness that we are all whole, and wholeness in tune with all-there-is. While we may be individuated points of focus here on our lives on Earth, we really are so much more – just as everything else is so much more as well.
Sometimes when I talk about unity consciousness people think what I’m suggesting is that the goal is to blend into sameness.
Quite the contrary. As we become more and more aligned with our fullness of being and strive to express and create with it more fully in our lives, diversity becomes more apparent, more joyful, more authentic. Nobody is trying to “fit in” to some peg hole that’s not them – everyone is shining their own pure authentic energy signature.
But just as we hold space for our own brilliance, our own unique expression, we must hold that for every other person and thing as well. We don’t have to choose what they choose – nor should we, if it’s not in vibrational resonance to who we are. But we can’t be in judgment either, which just reinforces the illusion of separation which is antithetical to unity consciousness.
No judgment. But discernment. And that’s where we bring this discussion back to the focus of this abecedarium – gratitude. I think my gratitude practice has been hugely important in helping me see the connections with everything; honor those things that bring me joy (are more in alignment with my particular unique resonance); and hold everything else in spacious wholeness. Ultimately a gratitude practice includes everything – it folds everything into the all-that-is field.
I’m working on a deliciously fun art project and as I like to do at the beginning of most projects, I’m playing around more with shapes and ideas than actually coming up with finalized creations. But as I’ve been playing with simple shapes I’ve been paying particular attention to symmetry and equality. Equal sides on a square. Equality of no-sides of a circle. Equal lines on a plus sign. But I’ve especially been playing with equilateral triangles. I’ve been creating made-up magical forests and somehow I’m inspired by triangular trees.
A coincidence? Perhaps. But one thing I can state for sure. I’m grateful for the inspiration. And I’m grateful for remembering that my only “real” job is to follow those inspirations that are joyful. Yes, I’ve learned a whole lot from my gratitude practice.
What about you? What are you grateful for today? What’s inspiring you? Is there a particular shape you’re finding popping up on your radar lots lately? Do tell, you know I love to hear.
