Happy Earth Day Beautiful Friends!
I woke up to singing birds and sunshine today and I couldn’t be happier. These last few days have been a wild meteorological mix. We had a warm day, then extraordinary record-breaking amounts of rain and flooding, then a roaring wind storm followed by a smattering of snow. Spring is having a hard time getting a foothold here this year.
But with a day that’s a bit warmer and certainly more dry, I plan on spending some of Earth Day doing some much needed Spring yard clean up. Time to get my hands deliciously dirty!
Normally I send out a zine for Earth Day, but this year my connection with time feels looser than ever. And I’m still integrating all the amazing shifts I experienced when I was on retreat earlier this month. So truly nothing feels “normal.”
So today I’m going to devote some of my time celebrating Earth Day by creating my zine, so it’ll be ready for mailing later in the week. It’s always a fun but labor-intensive project so I keep it to a limited-edition production. But I’ll make a extra copy and we can celebrate Earth Day with a giveway drawing. If you’d like to put your name in the proverbial chapeau for a chance to win a copy, just leave a comment saying so. I’ll leave the drawing open for a few days until the zine is actually ready to pop into the mail, and then I’ll pull a winning name.
But even if you don’t want to play, leave a comment anyway – you know I love to hear from you. How are you celebrating Earth Day? What makes your heart sing about spending your days on this beautiful planet? What environmental issue do you care about passionately? Do tell.
Loved hearing what you are doing for Earth Day Deborah. Today on Earth Day, I have written a post sharing an Ezine that I was featured in for an article that I wrote a year ago. It was released today because of Earth Day and the connection to it. All 9 women featured have written about topics regarding natural eco-healthy journeys.
The environmental issue that I am most consumed with at this time is reducing the amount of waste that is created in our life and making a difference that way.
Thanks for the opportunity to be entered in your draw. 🙂
I’m glad you’ve thrown your name in the hat Suzanne. And what a delight to read your article in the Back to Basics ezine! It’s a great-looking publication, and I look forward to reading the rest of it later with a cup of tea.
Happy Earth Day (it still is here)! I’m sure your zine will be a marvel, full of intricacies and fun facts.
Thanks Candace. Given my propensity to prefer celebration “seasons” instead of just days, I’m going with Earth Day Stretched. 😉
Happy Earth Day to you as well! I am glad to find your blog!
I wanted to comment on your GIT page with Spin Doctors (too funny) but there wasn’t a comments form? Thanks for stopping by my blog for GIT!
Thanks for stopping by Rhonda. And I appreciate you letting me know there’s a problem with my comment box! I’ll see if I can get that fixed ASAP.
Deborah, I loved the idea of an intentions call every Monday. I would like to try it sometime. I also enjoyed reading the Earth Day post.
Your blog header looks great!
Thanks for your kind words Nupur, and for stopping by. I love the practice of Monday morning intentions and highly recommend it.
I’m feeling a bit guilty for missing earth day and doing something to celebrate. I had so much going on that I didn’t realize until well into the evening that I’d missed it. Perhaps I can shift that perspective and say that I’m just fashionably late to the party and I’m still celebrating by spending time with my new nature love…the Great Egret who has moved into our courtyard. She is splendid and I have spent a great deal of time watching her and taking photos of her. I feel so honored by her presence. And no, I don’t know if she’s really a girl but I feel like she carries such an element of grace and it feels very feminine to me 🙂 I named her Ellie.
Never too late to the party Michele – and particularly since the real message of Earth Day is “Every day is Earth Day!”
How wonderful about your Great Egret friend Ellie – that truly does feel like a great blessing.
The winning name from my zine drawing is…drumroll… Suzanne.
I’ll be in touch Suzanne to get your mailing address and get your copy off to you.
Deborah, what a beautiful surprise email to see first thing today. I am thrilled to have won a copy of your zine. Thank you. xo
I’m delighted you’re delighted Suzanne. 😉
I came to this post late but had to think back. Although, like Michele, Earth Day got by me, I did celebrate it in some way unconsciously. I was reading Blessed Unrest that day. What a perfect tribute. That book is all about the earth and saving it. How fun.
Good for you for remembering to honor this big wonderful ball that keeps us going. We really do owe her some TLC!
Thanks for the hedz up about the book Amy – it certainly does sound like it was perfectly timed! I’ve added it to my reading list.
