It’s always a curiosity to me, and most often a delight, to see what themes gather for my attention in any particular time. There are so many ways to think about this, but ultimately I just like noticing, and often sharing.
Beauty, bodies, and bees have been on my radar and in the conversations others have been having with me as well. I’m inspired by the tarot archetype of The Hanged Man that stepped forward as a guiding lens for me in 2020, and I have such a deep sense that reminders to change our perspectives is very much part of the transformational work we’re all up collectively. How are we changed, how are we changing, what do we recognize, what do we not, are all questions that keep calling to me, and this week’s collection of links seems like good rabbit holes for this investigation. I hope you find them interesting as well.
- I deeply resonate with the writing and photography of Shawna Lemay. Her blog is entitled Transactions with Beauty, and if you’re not reading it already, let me highly encourage you to. It is, as you will guess, an exploration of how we travel through a world filled with beauty, even when experiences around us scream otherwise. I think of her as a kindred in broadcasting a way being and a message that I hold dearly as well. Here’s a recent post worth visiting,
- Cutting edge science: medical “textiles” for the body from skin cells
- As perhaps you know, I am greatly fascinated by creation tales. Here’s one that speaks to me of these times from the blog of Pepper Keen Lewis, also a new find to me.
- To end this curation of links this week on an amusing note, check out this video. The Divine Feminine has always expressed in many forms and what’s not to love about this animation done to “You Gotta Believe” sung by the Pointer Sisters? I dare you not to smile.
So what do you think? Have bodies, beauty, and/or bees been on your mind as well? What’s been capturing attention or leading you to new perspectives? Do tell – you know I love to hear.
Well, I wrote about bees this week in the sense of a Queen Bee manipulating people, but I don’t think that’s what you’re after here. A new perspective? I’ll have to get back to you on that. It’s been a long week with people behaving badly everywhere I turn. Perhaps I need to stop turning? 🤔
LOL – I guess not all Queen Bees fall into the fabulous category and you found yourself one of those. Hope your weekend restores and refreshes you and everyone behaves in kind and generous ways!
Bodies, beauty, aging, gaining weight…they’ve been on my mind, but not necessarily in a positive way. I need to turn that around!
That’s always a standing invitation isn’t it?

“Aham deha nahi hai”… is one of the mantras of Advaita Vedanta. I am not this body. Something I have to chant most days as the vehicle in which I travel rusts and creaks and seizes… YAM xx
I like the mantra, as well as the image of a rusty, creaky, seizing vehicle – made me laugh Yamini.
