There’s no doubt these are wobble-inducing times. And yet we can’t overlook the opportunities in front of all of us. This is what it’s like to be an awakened human – here to clean up the messes we’ve created and be a force of positive energy and light.
It’s my belief that as each one of us comes back into balance, back into equilibrium, it’s our job to reach out and offer our stability, our light, our centeredness. A little beacon of light for others to orient to if they choose. Reaching our hands out to help them gain their footing again; remembering and reminding as Ram Dass so beautifully said “We’re all just walking each other home.”
This is a time for all of us to ramp up our self-care.
I work a lot with Flower and Stone allies, and right now I’m working with the medicine of Self-Heal and Mica. I have a little pinch of Self-Heal and a tiny bit of Mica in a medicine pouch I’m wearing over of my heart and I’m taking essences of both. It’s time to remember our brilliance (thank you Mica) and remember the power of our own coherency – our power to heal from within (thank you Self-Heal).
This is a time to keep our ears turned towards our souls and listen carefully. What is feeding you and what is draining you? Pay attention and act accordingly. We are sovereign beings with the responsibility of mindful stewardship of our energy and our thoughts.
There are deep thoughtful voices in this world encouraging us to see with new clarity and offering direction of where we might want to step. I want to support and share some of those voices as resources we can all dip in if so inclined.
I think Charles Eisenstein’s essay on The Election: Of Hate, Grief, and a New Story is definitely worth reading as we prepare to step in a collective new story.
In the coming weeks and months many of us will have a clear focus of exactly what roads we’ll be traveling. We’ll have made choices about what areas we want to focus our time, our energy, our financial resources to support, knowing that all are important, all need attention, and yet knowing it’s okay to allow ourselves to be pulled to some more than others. As long as we’re embodied, we have physical limitations we need to honor.
I come to my activism via the grass roots route, and I will always hold dear in my heart those folks who are doing small-scale heart work. I love celebrating them and I may well spend more time in the future pointing them out here on my blog out so you can be inspired as well. That’s definitely in line with my mission to promote pronoia.
Cockroach is an eco-feminist zine produced in Canada, and with each issue is announced a “Stitching Hearts” project where locals are encouraged to participate in a particular crafting project to support a local non-profit. They done things like creating blankets for at shelter, valentines to be sent to residents of domestic violence shelters, making toys for animals in shelters. They’re currently running a Kickstarter campaign in hopes of being able to distribute their zines for free and thus get the word out to wider audiences. Perhaps you’ll be inspired to support them, or figure out your cool way to make a difference.
Structures and systems in this world are set to evolve. We’ve built so many of them on shadows and unexamined foundations and we’ve gotten a big wake up call. Let’s roll up our sleeves and see what powerful magic we can create. One step, one voice, one action at a time.
Hi Deborah – we do have to ride above the wave … and hold our own balance, helping others to join us … show by example. Thanks and you’re so right … take care – we need thoughtful ideas now … Hilary
I have great faith that we can wrangle some powerful magic in these times Hilary.
Hi Deborah, all your posts have been in my spam folder – I do not know why. But that is now sorted, hopefully. Your post is hopeful – yes, most definitely to look innerly and confront those shadows, not with other shadows and to be a positive force in the world. Everything is a upside down rather –
Enjoy the full moon tonight –
I’m glad to be rescued from the spam dregs Susan. And yes, yes, yes to being positive forces in the world – the need is great. Wishing you a most wondrous dance with the full moon energy.
