How fun that today we get to celebrate the Full Pink Moon.
Every moon carries multiple names, as each culture chooses a predominant signifier for that time of the year. So Pink moon actually refers to the time when wild ground phlox also known as the herb moss pink shows its beautiful self widely. Being a flora adorer I love that connection. But I also like imagining the moon is actually pink as well. Just like I’m tired of my heavier cold-weather clothes, I like to think the moon, too, is ready to slip on a pink spring gown.
But today perhaps we can think of that pink in another way as well. Did you get to observe the full lunar eclipse? I stayed up through the wee hours and witnessed the magic show. And magical it was indeed. Although you might imagine I’d be complaining because we had yet more snow yesterday, the truth is it set a fairyland stage for the observation of the shadowing of the moon, and a lovely backdrop when the moon appeared red. So beautiful!
From a purely aesthetic standpoint it was heart-openingly gorgeous. But add in all the energetic components as well and I must say I’m still dancing in celebration. I hope you are as well.
During my conversations with the moon and the energies last night, I couldn’t help but think of everyone else on the planet receiving the same rays of beauty, the same energy, the same vibrations; and how even though it’s the same source we’re all activated and experience it differently because we’re all unique in our soul templates and expressions. It’s as though we all have different circuits for the electricity to flow through. It delighted me, and filled me with awe, to think about that.
And just as I imagined countless folks watching the moon with me last night, I thought about countless people who’ve watched the moon throughout all the weavings of time here. And I thought about Rumi’s beautiful poem:
“At night, I open the window
and ask the moon to come
and press its face against mine.
Breathe into me.
Close the language-door
and open the love-window.
The moon won’t use the door,
only the window.”
Wishing you a wonderful day and hope you invite the moon to breathe into you.
Lovely. What is it about the moon…..that fills us with such mystery and magic. Maybe because it comes to us at the end of the day….maybe because it is best seen after darkness falls….maybe because the stars twinkle all around. Whatever it is, I do believe there is an ebb and flow of energy which radiates from the moon. It flows through us all……tis a wondrous and beautiful thing!
Tis wondrous indeed Debbie!
I love the moon! 🙂 I was not able to stay up late enough, last night to see the spectacular glow. I fell asleep. But thanks to some great photographers out there I’ve been able to see some fantastic pictures showing its magnificent glory. I too, would love to see it really be pink. Wouldn’t that be fantastic to have a pink moon radiating the love it normally does, but for some reason if it’d truly be pink I think more people would be able to feel its energy even more.
There have been some wonderful photos haven’t there? And I agree – it would be so fun to soak up some pink moon love.
The lunar eclipse was beautiful here, although it was a nice warm night, no snow in sight! I love the moon – and Rumi’s line that the moon only comes in through the window.
So glad you got to see the eclipse Linda – and got to enjoy a warm night to boot!
Oh, I wish I’d seen the eclipse! The name of this moon sounds lovely. Reminds me of the cherry blossoms we’re seeing in blog posts lately.
Yes – eclipses, pink moons and cherry blossoms – all beautiful!
The night of the eclipse was cloudy here. As the eclipse began, I popped outdoors, waved at the approximate location of the moon, wished her a happy eclipse, and then went to bed. Reading your post gives me a taste of what that eclipse may have been like — the magic and wonder, the growing awareness of humans across the globe and back through the millennia, gazing up at the moon in all of her pale and red and eclipsed and full round glory.
I love that you waved to the moon Harmony! And no doubt she felt your energy just as we felt hers.
