It’s time to welcome February. But I want to take a moment for a last conversation with January first.
Wow, January you didn’t visit for very long. I remember waking up one morning the beginning of January and thinking there are ONLY 365 days in a year and really having a new-found sense of how few that seemed. I truly don’t mean that from a scarcity point of view (although to be honest I managed to dip into that energy a bit as well), but a sense that there’s a preciousness about things now with no room to be wasting on what isn’t fulfilling. I kept coming back to that simple awareness and tried to pay attention to how it informed my month.
January brought lots of gifts, including my new guiding star word(s) for the year “Joyous Devotion.” It brought some exciting visions and the long-awaited clarity about the bones of my Under the Wisdom Tree teaching structure, and it returned to me a lost book of inspirations. It brought me reminders that I want to have more fun in my life, and that I want to put more creative stuff out there, and most of all that I’m surrounded my so much love and support, both seen and unseen.
January brought some rockiness as well, and there were days when I felt like I was on an emotional rollercoaster that paralleled our weather, where one day the temps were in the 60s and two days later the wind chill was 17 below zero. I had technology problems, ancient fears activated around security issues, and I looked around my house and saw piles and messes crying out for organization that made me want to weep as well. All clearly issues with flow.
And January also brought some lovely energetic healing as well. I circle with a beautiful group of women – we connect by phone every Thursday evening and have done so for years. This is a soul family. We actually all have lots of soul families, but I know I am truly blessed because I have gathered so many of them into my everyday life. We talk metaphysics, talk life, share celebrations, lighten burdens, and remind each other of our sovereignty and divinity. And we closed out January with some deep healing work.
Ahhh.
And when I woke to February it indeed felt like I’d entered a new doorway. Singing and laughter, and a sense of playfulness and delight. I walked to the post office this morning, maybe 5 or 6 blocks away from my house, and I kid you not, I got lost on the way home. I was lost in thought, thinking about what to invite into my life this month and how to show up for it, and the next thing I knew I was on a different route then my usual and yes, for a brief moment, totally lost. But it felt like exactly the perfect message – a reminder that a new path is unfolding. And with that realization I glanced down and found a lucky penny on the ground. Made me laugh indeed.
The reminders that support is abundantly available are showing up in full force. A joy-guide goddess has shown up to usher me through February. And today I had a wonderful session with the delightful Megan Potter of Limitless Living. With her brilliant understanding of the 9 Star Ki system and 5 Chinese Elements and her intuitive mojo, she framed it my earlier flow problem in a perspective that made me laugh in delighted understanding. And offered some wonderful guidance about what this upcoming new year (in the Chinese system) is asking of me. I’m all excited and energized and ready to go February. Bring it on!
What about you? What gifts did January bring? What are you going to invite into your February. Please leave a comment – I really would like to know.
Deborah, My January brought a new level of recognition about my art, whoa! And a reminder, again, of how my body does illness (subtle, emotional rather than physical) & that I need to treat myself with kindness when my energy is low. February starts out with 2 art show receptions and ends with time in the Mexican sun and water, yum!
Yay for all of January’s recognitions, but especially congratulations about your art. Your February sounds delicous!
January brought a lot of energy especially the days of sunshine with cold weather and sunshine with warm weather. I resisted going down with the gray days that are so PNW winter. The start of February was a relief to me because the school semester was over, the sun was shining and I’m working with a new bunch of writers in The February Forum. I love your website. So many beautiful colors and images which are a delight to the eye. Your voice is engaging.
Thanks for stopping by Sheila and for your kind words. Here’s to a February that brings your more sunshine and things that delight you!
January felt very “rocky” to me. Lots of good…some not-so-good…felt “off” much of the month. Looking forward to what February holds!
Here’s to a thoroughly delightful February!
