I’m on a not-so-secret mission to spread love into the world widely and encourage everyone else to as well. And so, if for no other reason, today would be a favorite of mine for sure. But add in the appeal of vintage Valentine cards and the love meter rises even higher.
Rumi says it beautifully:
“Your task is not to seek for love, but merely seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.”
Bring down those walls, those hardened thoughts, those old stories.
And on this celebrated day of love, let me fly some blessings toward you. May you know how loved and appreciated you are for simply showing up as you – in all your beauty, in all you messiness; in all your fullness and in those times when you feel empty. You shine. I see you, I know you, I love you.
And whether you choose to celebrate or not, my heart-felt wish for you is a day filled with happiness.
Sending an infinity’s worth of hearts filled with Love for you, dear friend!
Received with gratitude and joy Pattie – thanks!
Happy Valentine’s Day, Deborah. I love those vintage cards, especially the swans.
Best wishes to you as well Candace. Those swans are fabulous aren’t they? There are swans on the Kankakee River and it’s always a delight to see them as well.
Love those vintage cards- Happy Valentine’s Day!
Thanks Sue, and those images really are delightful aren’t they?
Belated happy Valentine’s Day Deborah …and thank you for the lovely wishes – those vintage cards are beautiful – the world so needs more love. We never pass much remarks on St Valentine’s day here – but it seems to have been more present than normal this year.
Oh that’s kind of fun Fil – a potential increase in the world’s love quotient.
Those vintage cards remind me of my grandma and the treasures I would find upstairs in the farmhouse when I was a child. She had boxes of those cards. Some had glitter. I thought they were magical. I still do. 🙂 Happy belated Valentines Day! And thank you for the LOVELY card. You made my day! 😀
Oh what a fabulous treasure find Tracy. I LOVE LOVE LOVE vintage cards and illustrations and yes, glitter does make everything better. It’s a law. I always kind of smile to myself when others aren’t quite as enamored of vintage cards as I am. I had a friend who acted insulted that I sent her a vintage card, as though she wasn’t worth a newly minted one. I consider her lucky that I didn’t snatch it back. 🙂 But now I’m a bit more considered about matching treasures to people’s actual preferences.
Those vintage cards. They’re beautiful. Very well said…also love the quote by Rumi. Got to share this with a friend of mine who absolutely needs to read what you wrote. Thank you and a belated Valentine’s Day to you 🙂
Thanks for your kind words and sharing with your friend – that’s lovely. Wishing you a lovely day and always lots of heart wishes.
