“For all that has been, thanks.
For all that will be, yes!”
-Dag Hammarskjold
And on this day that we in the United States celebrate Thanksgiving, it’s time to turn to the next page in my miscellany abecedarium – to the letter V.
is for ventripotent
Ventripotent: (adj) having a fat belly; being a glutton; taking a greedy delight in eating.
Isn’t that the most perfect word for today on a day of feasting?
And because V might also stand for vintage, I couldn’t resist including this vintage postcard which might suggest one of the reasons I am ventripotent.
Whether you’re celebrating Thanksgiving or not, I wish you a day filled with joy and an abundance of delights for which to be grateful.
Oh boy, I’m ventripotent too (and this sounds much more mysterious than plainly fat…)
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
LOL – yes Evalina, it’s so much more delightful to own being ventripotent isn’t it? And thanks for the kind wishes. Hope your Thanksgiving was lovely.
We had a very ventripotent day, also. Hope yours was great.
Most excellent. We did too, and it was wonderful.
Ventripotent??? Absolutely the best word to describe my actions around the dinner table on Thanksgiving Day. It’s a new word for me. Thank you Deborah. I shall spread it about with abandon.
I hope you had a Very Happy Thanksgiving – Voluminous with joy and Vatfuls of contentment.
LOL – I do believe ventripotent is a word to spread with great abandon!
