is for worry
Earlier this week I had a conversation with friends about things we’d each been worrying about that proved needless. We’ve all been there – all that wasted energy projecting into a future that doesn’t unfold. I was thinking a bit more about that yesterday when gratitude and thanksgiving was the subject de jour.
I love this quote by Hafiz:
“Now that your worry has proved such an unlucrative business,
Why not find a better job?”
Indeed.
Here’s a peek into a couple pages in one of my journals. I think both spreads belong together.
What if we all gave up worry in the future for appreciating beauty in the now? Sounds like a move in the right direction doesn’t it? And that’s what I’m wishing for all of us today.
Lovely art spreads Deborah.
Worry is such a useless pastime. I’ve been trying to do less of it lately and the little pest still creeps up unbeknownst to me …
I hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving

Thanks Fil – and I’m co-opting that expression “worry is such a useless pastime” and will repeat it whenever I’m tempted to listen to that little voice.
I had not heard of that particular Hafiz quote. I will definitely need to remember that one!!!
It’s a keeper for sure.
