Another week has flown by and it’s time to post this round of daily index cards I’ve created for the ICAD challenge. It’s fun to see my deck of cards growing. I invite you to head over to Daisy Yellow’s site and check out this week’s link up party and see what ICAD creations have been posted. Here are mine:
This first card is in honor my hands. I’ve recently had my hands read and while I learned all kinds of fascinating things, there were also all kinds of unexpected delights as well. Such as the fact that I have a fingerprint on my palm (that’s rather unusual); and that I have a few peacock markings on my fingers, and that one of them was “hidden” – in the sense that my fingers didn’t easily want to reveal themselves.
Isn’t hidden peacock a fascinating concept to think about? Peacock is all out “look at me, look at me” and hidden is all about “don’t look at me.” Yep, I can see those two energies at work in my world. Sigh. So I couldn’t resist attaching a peacock tail to a plain-jane songbird. I suspect peacock will be an honored guest in my thoughts for a while as I consider this some more.
The background on the second card for some reason absolutely demanded to have a head on a stick on it. And now that that idea has entered my awareness I feel obsessed by it – I want to do head-on-a-stick puppets. Head-on-a-stick everything. Beware, the monster has been unleashed.
I have to say it feels pretty astonishing to me that there are only a few days left in July. I’m just beginning to feel like I’m getting things sorted out and we’re about to be flipping the calendar page. What about you? Has this been one of those blink-and-it’s-gone months or are you chomping at the bit to be done with it? Have any peacock tales to share with me? Ever made head-on-a-stick puppets? Do tell – you know I love to hear.
I ran across your website via your link to Glue it Tuesday. I am so happy to find this! I signed up to get email & will be checking in weekly. Many thanks.
Glad you found your way here – GIT is a wonderful way to connect isn’t it?
Love the stories behind your cards – especially the peacock! It is fun to look at these big juicy stacks of cards we now have. And for me…July…where DID it go?? I blinked & it’s almost August…sigh…love the summer, love ICAD, sad to see them both ending.
I’ve so enjoyed the ICAD project and it IS fun seeing the resulting stack of cards. Hopefully they’ll be other fun projects that capture our Muse’s attention so we can continue to play. 😉
Visiting from ICAD, so glad I called by this morning. Your cards are lovely, I love the colours and the stories behind them. I think, if I knew what to look for, I would have some peacock markings on my fingers too… I am also wondering what happened to July although having taken on a little too much I will be happy to see August for no other reason than to rest.
Happy you popped by Miriam. Hope August unfolds into a perfectly wonderful restful and rejuvenating month.
Lovely cards! I’m sort of torn between being sorry ICAD is over and looking forward to a break from it! I’ve loved every minute of it, though – both making my cards and seeing all the wonderful cards other people have made.
Have fun with your heads-on-sticks project!
ICAD has been a fun summer project hasn’t it? But it feels like it’s been just the right amount of time and now it’s time to close this and make room for something else. A change up can really keep things fresh and prime the creativity pump.
Oh how interesting! I bet I have a peacock hidden in my palm somewhere. <3 Love your ICADs… especially the "damp proof" one!
Thanks Carly – I appreciate you stopping by.
