Today I’m reflecting on two prompts in Kat McNally’s Reverb15.
First she invites us to consider: where could you (like me) consider turning it up a few notches in the new year?
Being seen. I’ve decided that 2015 was pretty much a year of in-breath, and I’d like 2016 to be a year of out-breath. I’ve done a great job of arranging my life to be small – and I mean that in all the best ways. It suits my quiet-loving, introverted, HSP ways. But the truth is I have things to say and people to reach and staying hidden isn’t very helpful in that department. I’m very much a social media recluse, but I think I’ll work on dialing it up a few notches.
I could also benefit from increasing my concentrated focus next year. Ah the joys of a mind that wanders and finds wonders everywhere! But next year I’ve got some big projects in mind and I expect they’ll call for some extra focus and concentration. Here’s to mastering that with total ease and grace (and joy!)
I also want to dial up the efforts on winnowing my possessions. Only treasures is the motto I embrace for my life and my home, and perhaps a round of Marie Kondo’s The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up is in order.
The second prompt Kat offers is:
Today, I invite you to think about the great unknowns in your life right now. Say to yourself this morning: “I am open to the answers finding me”. Then stay alert with as many senses as you can throughout the course of the day.
In what form did the answers find you?
I’m always open to listening and receiving messages. After posing my question this morning, I’m not surprised an answer showed up by lunchtime. I went to grab a magazine from my rather large stack of unread ones, and look what popped up:
And just to add an extra dose of delight, the fortune in my cookie offered a message as well. I photographed it in the corner to the magazine, but it’s unreadable. It says: “Your present plans are going to succeed.”
Well yay to that!
Now your turn…What could you turn up a few notches in 2016? What messages have you received lately? Love fortune cookies as much as I do? Best fortune you’ve ever received? Do tell – you know I love to hear.
I can’t tell you what the fortune said in my favourite fortune cookie story – because my colleague ate the whole thing, fortune and all!
I like the sound of your present plans. I hope your cookie is correct!
LOL – well I guess that’s one way to embody a fortune!
