Today I’m exploring two more of Kat McNally’s August Moon prompts.
“What is the perfect space for you?”
I find this to be both a tender and juicy place to explore. Tender because although I love (and am wildly sentimental) about my quirky old home, I’ve been feeling the call for a while into something new, something more expansive, something different. In truth I don’t know how this is going to manifest, how it will unfold or when, but I fully expect it to and it will. So in the meantime I’m loving and appreciating the wonderfulness of my current space while dreaming what my new space will be like.
I love the quirkiness of my home – it feels as eccentric as I do sometimes. It’s ancient, with tiny rooms, and is well-loved but it needs far more attention and renovation than we currently have the funds or energy for. And so it needs to go to someone who can provide this delightful entity with the loveifying it so deserves. In the meantime I’ve filled it with treasures that delight me, and am grateful for all the joy I experience here, and hold dear all the precious memories.
I’ve been having fun imagining what I’d love in my new place. I can’t remember what I group I was playing with but earlier this year we spent time making vision cards in several categories, and this is the one I did for my new home. It’ll be fun to come back here some time and blog about my new space.
Kat’s next question kind of stumped me. In a good way. And I certainly need to think about it more, because there’s a lot to mine here. “What do people thank you for. How do you surprise and delight other people? (Because you know the truth is that you do.)”
People thank me a lot for holding sacred space for them. Well, only a few people use those actual words, but it’s what they mean. I listen deeply and I hold energetic possibility for people to see themselves in their fullness. Sometimes I think it’s a bit like holding up a magic mirror. Not magic in the sense it shows you something that’s not there, but magic in the sense that it lets you see yourself truly and glimpsing yourself as beautiful can really be magical.
I’m also what someone once called a Sacred Time Keeper which delights and puzzles me at the same time given I have such an interesting, seemingly conflicted relationship with time. But I DO pay attention to the lunar cycles and the seasonal wheel and part of the way I honor and celebrate those things is to create little tokens. I love introducing people to new-to-them poetry, I love sharing what I’m curious about, I love sending snail mail. I don’t think any of us are immune to the delight of receiving a surprise in our mailboxes.
I also love making up words and titles – there’s something entirely delightful about it and at another level something deeply sacred. And those things are certainly not mutually exclusive. So as I think about what I might call myself that reflects what I’m most thanked for, I think I’ll don the title of Shine Optimizer. LOL – yes, that’s a keeper.
Now I’m passing the talking stick on to you. Have a favorite space? An idea about what you might really love in your space? What do people thank you for? What’s your special something? And do you have a fabulous made up title? Do tell – you know I love to hear.
Shine Optimizer! That sounds like a superpower to me! Wonderful!
I love your vision card for your new space and I want to see how this new space turns out! I am particularly like the image of the table holding the various bottles with plants. I’d love to have something similar to that! How wonderful to be actually in the process of creating that new space! Blessings for your new space!
Oh yes – a superpower! We should all have a string of fun names for our superpowers. Thanks for the blessings on manifesting my next new wonderful space – I truly appreciate them (and you!)
Hi Deborah. Just a heads up – I tried to comment on your Friday post, but there was no place to do so – the comments section isn’t displaying.
Thanks Sarah, I appreciate the hedz up. Odd stuff like that I have no clue how to fix drives me crazy.
Now THAT is a fantastic superpower to have: job title maker-uperer.
What would mine be, I wonder? 🙂
Job title maker-uperer is a most fabulous superpower indeed. And I hereby bequeath you the title of Soul Encourager. 🙂
It’s been a wonderful experience reflecting on your August Moon prompts Kat – thank you!
