I started out the month with my abecedarium and I think I’ll close out the month with a counting post.
It so happens that in my wandering through blogland I stumbled across Julie Kirk’s site Notes on Paper and she does a monthly feature, The Month in Numbers, where she posts a summary of things that happened during the month and uses numbers to tie them together. I’m not much of a left-brain numbers kind of person, but this feels like a totally fun right-brain way to play the numbers game, so count me in. Do check out Julie’s site for information on how you can play along too, and check out the links to other bloggers doing their monthly count.
I’ve decided to do a little A through Z list and count up what occurred during my month. After I did the numbers I did a wordle, which gives greater prominence to words that appear more frequently. So you can see my numbers represented by larger and smaller sized words. Somehow the size of words representing numbers feels like perfect Alice-in-Numberland logic to me and definitely makes me laugh.!
So without further ado here are my June numbers:
A is for abecedarium blog posts: 26
B is for bees – the number of bee images that appeared in my June blog posts: 20

And here’s today’s index card for the ICAD challenge:
So what about you? What have you been counting? Have a lucky number? Pay attention to numerology? More likely to use your fingers for counting or fingerpainting? Have a number with your name like I do? Do tell – you know I love to hear.
I could hazard a guess what the numbers in your ICAD challenge might represent but it might be my own spin…is it what I think?
Well if you’re thinking this is my magic birthday numbers square you’d be correct. From these numbers (and simple adding, subtracting, and multiplying) the month and day of the birthdays of all my family are here: me, my brother, my sister, my mom, my dad, and my husband. Plus my very favorite cousin!
Okay, haha, that was more complex than I was thinking 🙂
LOL – numbers do tend to complicate things don’t they?
Welcome aboard Deborah – lovely to have you join in with My Month in Numbers.
And to combine it with your A-Z was inspired!
Yet again reading through a Month in Numbers post before lunch has made me rather peckish now! There’s usually someone who counts recipes and meals … and who makes me hungry! I’m only wishing we had some goat’s cheese in the fridge now!
I’ve added you to the board now: http://pinterest.com/notesonpaper/my-month-in-numbers/
Happy July – I hope lots of friendly number-counters drop by and visit you now.
Julie 🙂
p.s: The questions for the 1st ‘Communal Count’ are up on my blog today if you want to join in with it this month.
Thanks for the delightful welcome Julie, and what fun to play in your challenge as well as see how the numbers are adding up for others. You’ve got my number – I’ll be back to play again. 😉
