Eli at Coach Daddy blog does a monthly feature called 6 Words. He invites folks to participate and answer a prompt in six words. July is Freedom from Fear of Speaking Month, and Eli offered a 6-word opportunity to tell something you’d like to say to the world. Do head over and see what folks had to say.
There are probably a billion things I could say, but I decided on:
Every moment is a new beginning.
I keep thinking about how stuck we are collectively in old patterns, old belief systems, old paradigms that simply aren’t working. I think about how frustrated so many people are; how angry; how frightened; how anxious; how stretched to the limit they feel. And I keep thinking – the world needs to count to ten, take a deep cleansing breathe, and plug into their compassion gene before responding in any way that isn’t a blast of love.
Because seriously, I think we have some choices to make. As my beloved guides often ask – are we adding to the light and love quotient in this world, or are we not?
And when we stumble, as of course we all do, we get to begin again. We aren’t required to stay in congested energy; to spiral further and further down a path that is unconscious and unintentional; or compound negativity with negativity. Every moment is a new beginning, in which have power to flow back into alignment.
Be an agent of love and peace and compassion. When we hold enough love, it’s much easier to stay out of judgment, and when we stay out of judgment we don’t need to be operating in separation consciousness. And when we’re really anchored in unity consciousness, there really isn’t anything to fear any more. I call that winning through love.
To be clear, this doesn’t mean we have to accept what is not preferred. We are all powerful creators and change is certainly one of the things we are capable of creating. But I feel very very strongly that we need to be operating from a place of being FOR something, rather than being AGAINST something. Can’t you feel the vast difference in those two energies?
For the past three weeks I’ve been playing in Jennifer Belthoff’s Love Notes Postcard project where we sent prompt-inspired postcard messages weekly via snail mail to an assigned partner. You know how I feel about the importance of love notes (and snail mail!), so of course I’m always up for this quarterly exchange. Our final prompt this week was a vision for our next 30 years. Who knows if I’ll – if any of us – will be around in thirty years, but I was reminded of the 100-year vision I wrote a while ago that I still hold in my heart as my dearest hope.
I envision a world where:
All beings are operating with conscious connection to Source and embodying their Divinity.
Unity consciousness and celebration of diversity are the foundational principles that are expressed fully as harmony, peace, love, and joy.
There is equitable sharing of resources and unified commitment to caring for the Earth.
Gratitude, beauty, grace, kindness, and inspired action are everyday currencies and all beings know they are greatly loved and infinitely supported.
This is the world I want; this is the world I wish to be part of; this is the world I have a responsibility to create. And I’m not afraid of saying it.
What about you? What do you want to be an agent for? What vision do you hold for our world? What would you tell the world in 6 worlds? You know I want to hear.
I want that world too, Deborah. Every word of it. Beautiful post. Thank you.
Blessings and Unity
Mary
You’re a beautiful contributor to the world I envision Mary. May blessings and unity always pave your path.
Hi Deborah – to be me … to be kind and caring, considerate for others and to offer a form of leadership wherever I am … we can always lead and encourage others …
We need to heed others and listen … somehow we need to influence and spread our guiding light out for other to follow … cheers Hilary
Oh yes indeed Hilary – you are a most wonderful agent of all this! I’m always grateful for your kindness and encouragement – thank you.
You’re echoing some of the thoughts I’ve been having lately, Deborah. The world has become so divided and driven on fear, prejudice, and the like; and I’m reminded of that whenever I watch the news. I’m pretty sure that’s what inspired my 6 words for Eli’s post this month.
Our websites may have much different focuses, but whenever I blog, I try to ensure it comes from a place of compassion. I want to help, inspire, and encourage other writers; and I try to remind readers of the need to take care of ourselves as well as others. And oddly enough, the story I’m editing touches on compassion as one of its major themes. So I hope that when it’s out in book form one day, for the world to read, it impacts readers in a positive way.
Thank you for writing this. 🙂
I whole-heartedly agree with you Sara – the world needs more love and compassion. And you anchor those qualities strongly in your blog. I really look forward to when your story is published – and hope it is wildly successful.
Beginning again. What a powerful reminder. We may not be able to alter what has already been, but we can choose to take a different path or shift our thinking. Even the worst stuff offers us an opportunity to begin again. Thank you, Deborah.
Yes, I’m so glad we are afforded the chance again and again. And thanks so much for stopping by Carol – I’m delighted.
Beautiful sentiments. This current election cycle has really brought out the worst in people. And the best. It’s been interesting. What I want is for people to accept each other for who they are. To not judge on outward appearances. To be grateful for the small things. To be kind.
That’s really a perfect and helpful observation Wendy – that we can’t forget our election cycle is bringing out the best in people as well. It’s good to have others to remind us of that when we get discouraged. Your wishes are beautiful, and may we see them all come true.
Thank you for this beautiful post Deborah. It is soothing and calming in a world that needs much calming. I’m particularly drawn to the idea to ‘begin again’ as I’ve been pondering the joys of the ‘do-over’, after I had TWO New Years this year, after the first one began very badly…hooray for the Chinese New Year which gave me the opportunity to ‘begin again’ with better energy to move forward!
And we all have this ability to begin again, in every moment of each day – it may not always be easy to begin again, but the opportunity is always there, should we ever need it =)
Blessings to you, Deborah, for all the love and light you shine into the world!
Oh yes Monica – do-overs and begin-agains are powerful ways to bring ourselves current, letting go of what isn’t aligned and re-setting our energy. And while I think it’s a good way to think about things always, now that we’ve moved into the second half of the year, I most definitely need another official “New Year” start. So let me be the first to wish you a new New Year. 🙂
Thank you for sharing this here, Deborah! I’d love to be an agent for kindness. Plain and simple. Kindness would solve all our ills if we’d give it a shot.
Yep Eli – I think you’ve called it correctly. Kindness would – and does -change everything. More of that please!
And thanks for the opportunity to play in 6 Words – it’s always a delight.
I love the sentiment of hope that your 6-word response possesses. I’m a pathologically positive person (sometimes to a fault?) but occasionally I do get discouraged by what’s going on in my life and in the world around us. I like what Wendy said about remembering that even the nastiness of the election cycle is being counter-balanced by a whole bunch of goodness. And wise, wise Eli… Kindness really is the key to it all. “Every moment is a new beginning” in which we can choose to be kind, choose to be happy, choose to make a difference.
I’m grateful for all my wise friends and readers – you all help make this a better world indeed.
I’d love that world too…
I’m glad we’re doing our part to create it Hilary.
Beautiful!!! Your six words say a lot. I think I will use it as a quote (with credit to you) for my FB business page. LOVE it!!!
I’m glad the thought speaks to you Elda – it’s a wonderful expansive way to journey through this world isn’t it?
