Every week Diana at Part Time Monster hosts a Weekend Coffee Share inviting folks to share a peek into their world. Come join the fun here.
I’d tell you summer arrived full force this week. While I’m not entirely sure I’m ready to give up Spring because I love everything about it, including the more comfortable cooler temps, it is fun to feel like it’s time to jump full out into summery action. It’s morning coffee out on the porch, and blowing bubbles out into the world, and listening to the sounds of hammers and conversations and laughter as various neighbors tackle various outdoor repair projects.
I’ve pulled out one of my teapots, a favorite as it somehow reminds me of an elephant, because all of a sudden I’m all about the ice tea. With plans for strawberry lemonade later. Yes, summer has arrived.
The first of the peonies have popped and I’m in heaven. Truly is there any other flower that invites you to feel so intoxicated with lush abundance?
My nose has had lots to smile about this week. I’ve been creating a custom natural perfume – a magical leafy/foresty blend and I have the first of the test samples ready to send off.
A number of friends and I took an online class this week, exploring what next steps our businesses are calling us into, and it was such a delightful and productive and fun experience. I’ve got all kinds of new ideas and inspirations.
This week we began Netflixing an Australian series The Code about a government conspiracy and I’m good and properly hooked. I’ve started reading a number of books, bound a new journal, and have an inspired summer journaling plan. It feels like I’m gathering all kinds of inspiration and now it’s time to have fun with it. I’ve begun what is likely to become a regular feature on my blog – a gathering of links of what’s been filling my world with goodness. I’m imagining it as a veritable trip to the sweet shop of inspiration.
I’ve got a small work project I hope to finish today, so I can really enjoy the rest of the weekend as a long holiday. I’ve got a new Taproot magazine to dive into, some snail mail to get out, and lots of happiness to steep in. I’m hoping you have some of that as well.
So tell me – what’s been up in your world? What are you celebrating; being inspired by; dreaming of? You know I love to hear.
How wonderful, Deborah! I love the Taproot magazine! Looks like fun! I was just reading your Candy Dish post and looking through all the gems in there. Thanks for being YOU! I agree, that I will miss the gorgeous temps of Spring. But they are still here, so I am enjoying them to the fullest while they last!
Thanks for the kind words Amy. Enjoy your Spring temps and your weekend!
That is a cool teapot!
I love peonies too. Mmmmmmm.
Enjoy the inspiring summer days…
I didn’t know you made perfume!
I think because I love flowers so much I like to smell like them. 🙂 Wishing you a fabulous week Mary.
I love your teapot! Have a great week.
Thanks April – you too!
Sounds like you have a wonderful summer ahead of you! And the teapot totally makes me think of an elephant too…
So glad you stopped by to say hello. Wishing you a wonderful summer as well.
Oh yes – those colors, that texture – that tea pot is definitely an elephant. I’m a spring lover too and have relished in a good long one down here in Roanoke after watching them almost disappear from the Northeast (winter snow to HOT in what seems like to blink of an eye). That pattern behind the perfume is delightful – did you design that? I hope you’ll do a blog post on where your business is calling you to. I’m interested in learning more about what you see as your ideal future clients.
I’m so glad you’ve gotten to enjoy a full-blown Spring Nanette. I’ve so been enjoying reading how you’ve taken to Roanoke and your explorations of this new-to-you area. It inspires me to keep my eyes open in my own city – there’s always wonderful things to discover. And I love that you always carry your business-encouraging wisdom viewpoint as well. Perhaps a post about what new clients I’m inviting into my ever-morphing world is indeed a good idea.
Hi Deborah – wonderful teapot … what is it made of? Love the peony – and when I could get fluffy pink peonies for my mother – I’d buy a bunch and loved seeing them. Good luck with the perfume trial … you are certainly industrious …
I’ve been seeing a bit about iced tea recently – it’s not that warm here yet – but I’ve noted the iced tea ideas coming out – cheers Hilary
The pot is glazed and fired clay. And it never fails to invoke a smile from me. Maybe your summer will arrive with the suddenness our did, so best be prepared with those ice tea recipes.
My Mother always want peonies as you could be sure they would open in time for the her family graves. No planss but to stay off the roads or eat out as restaurants will be full. Good luck with your natual perfume.
Thanks for stopping by and saying hi Betty Louise. Hope your weekend is wonderful and sets the tone for another lovely week ahead.
