I’m looking forward to playing in the Write 31 Days blogging challenge, where the invitation is to choose one topic and write about it daily for the month of October.
I often say I like to keep my feet on the joy trail, but I’m no Pollyanna – I know we all have our share of challenges and wobbles, sadness and hard. But I whole-heartedly believe we’re responsible for how we meet the world and the energy we put out there. And in this time of so much fear-mongering and separation consciousness in the collective, I think it’s especially important we all do our best to contribute to making the world a kinder, gentler, more compassionate place for all beings.
I think that’s why I’m such a big fan of pronoia – a term coined by astrologer Rob Brezny. He wrote a book entitled Pronoia Is the Antidote for Paranoia: How the Whole World is Conspiring to Shower You with Blessings.
I also believe we all need to be strong advocates for peace. Our services, our light, our love is very much needed. Equally important is our commitment to not add to the morass, the abjection, the overall craziness in the world when we’re in a position to offer something more uplifting and more unifying.
I’m also a lover of words, and I recently discovered the word quiety which means quietness, calmness, peace, tranquility. I embrace all those things, and want more of that in our world as well.
So for 31 days I’m going to turn my blog into an oasis of pronoia, peace and quiety. I’ll be sharing all manner of things that delight me, feel good, and contribute joy, beauty, and/or serenity.
Being the lover of word play that I am, as well as a dedicated namer of things, given that my topic is covered by a couple of Ps and a Q word, I’m officially naming this my Mind Your Ps and Qs challenge. That peculiar English idiom means “mind your manners; mind your language; be on your best behavior.” I think that’s a perfect description of the energy I’m invoking – where we’re adding to the loving-kindness quotient in the world and not contributing to the turmoil.
Let’s be map makers, charting this journey that fills our days and our lives with the signposts that show we’ve found the sprinkles of magic, the sparks of fabulousity, the generosity of heart connections that are here for us to receive. And let’s welcome them with gratitude and delight and a joyful “more of that please!”
I’m going to keep this post as a landing page for the challenge and update it daily with the link for that day’s post. If you’d like to follow along you and don’t subscribe for notifications of when I post, you could bookmark this post and come back and see what I’ve written. But in any case, know that I wish you a world filled with pronoia, peace, and quiety.
Day 2 – Tree Wonder
Day 3 – Inviting Peace
Day 4 – Watery Quiety
Day 5 – A Handy Reminder to be Yourself
Day 6 – The Point of Hats
Looking forward to reading your wonderful messages this month! Because I’ve had my husband home with me all day for the last 7 years (I work from home and he was on a disability and has now retired) I long for a bit of peace and quiet at times. Don’t get me wrong, I love my husband, but when going to the grocery store is a welcome outing, it’s pretty bad – LOL well, not quite that bad. Mind your P’s and Q’s is a phrase I heard in my childhood! Happy October.
Happy October Janet. And here’s to just enough peace and quiet to keep you happy. 🙂
Hi Deborah – I’ll be fascinated to see what you post … quietness, peace and pronoia – ladled with blessings … definitely a good month ahead .. cheers Hilary
Thanks Hilary. Here’s to unfolding an October that sparkles for us all.
