Today at the Kickin’ It Old Skool blog-a-thon the prompt is 10 Things about Me! Here we go…
1. I use flower essences and essential oils every single day. If I could I’d wear flowers in my hair as well. I’m a human garden.
2. I’m a Cancer Sun/Libra Moon/Scorpio rising; my 9 Star Ki is 3.1.7 meaning I’m yang wood, water, yin metal; and I’m a Myers-Briggs INFJ.
3. I love pretty packages. I can imagine working in a charming little boutique wrapping up treasures in beautiful papers and gorgeous ribbons, infusing everything with extra sparkles of love and delight.
4. While you might know or guess that I have a strong relationship with the Divine Feminine, I also have a very strong connection to Thoth and Hermes/Mercury.
5. I can’t imagine life without poetry.
6. I think the adage by Eubie Banks is a wonderful philosophy for life. “Be grateful for luck. Pay the thunder no mind – listen to the birds. And don’t hate nobody.”
7. While in many ways I’m organized, I wish I could find a right-fit way to control and corral the immense amount of paper I generate. I love words. I love images. I jot thoughts down everywhere. I doodle endlessly. I live in a snowstorm of paper.
8. I have a wisdom tooth talisman. Some people think keeping a tooth borders on gross, but I don’t get that. And it makes me laugh in delight knowing I have a little extra wisdom available when I need it.
9. I love the idea of secret hiding places – hidden little caches that contain a surprise. Which is why all my journals have pockets and hidden places to slip things. Keep your eyes open, your curiosity tuned, and your detecting skills honed and life will present you will endless magic.
10. I just purchased a wonderful piece of art. But it’s being exhibited so I won’t actually have it in my hands until sometime in January. But it delights me no end knowing in the meantime many others are enjoying it and I like to think of their eye tracks all over the art.
And there you have it, ten truths about me. What about you? How about one thing? Do tell – you know I love to hear.
I love #2. It’s really all I need to know. the rest is fluff and filler.
LOL – well there you go.
I’m with you on a lot of those! Nice to get to know you a bit, #2 says a lot if you get it (which I do). Thanks for sharing!
Fun meme isn’t it? Love getting peeks at everyone playing.
I love essential oils too. My next craft project is terra cotta pendants so you can wear the oils around your neck.
Great list!
Sounds like fun Jill.
I love the imagery that your words convey – particularly “I am a human garden,” and “I like to think of their eye tracks all over the art.” Good stuff.
Thanks Sarah. I’m glad you stopped by.
I love the first one. So much info in a short excerpt. Though I have never heard of 9 Star Ki… to the internet!
LOL – research at the touch of our fingertips – it’s utterly marvelous isn’t it?!
You have a wonderful way with words. I enjoyed learning about you and I am looking forward to learning more throughout the month. What a wonderful way to think about sharing your painting with others.
Thanks Ginny. I, too, am enjoying this blog-a-thon invitation to visit and get to know one another better. Pure delight.
What joy to acquire a piece of art!
It is! And this one truly does fill my heart.
Another lover of essential oils here! My favorites of late have been citruses.
Sparkly citruses are always wonderful. Of course, I’ve rarely met an essential oil I don’t like. 😉
I love #8! I have had to have a lot of teeth pulled, (I have bad teeth genes from both sides of the family) and I tried to get my teeth from the dentist after he pulled them. Apparently, you can’t have them…once they are extracted they are “medical waste/biohazard” and have to be incinerated. Which is pretty messed up if you think about it! If it’s in your mouth, totally safe…as soon as it leaves your mouth, it’s going to be used in germ warfare! I did, however, take a picture of every tooth and have sent the pictures to my older sister, who shares my love of interesting things that would gross out other people! I wanted to send her a tooth as a token of affection, but the dentist said no… 🙁 I’m happy to have found another person who is not weirded out by the teeth thing! <3
Happy to meet another journeyer whose a carrier of rogue teeth genes. And who isn’t weirded out by little enamel nuggets of toothiness. 😉 Sometimes you can only shake your head and laugh at the insanity of so-called safety rules.
Secret hiding places — yum!! And a human garden …that’s great… I could absolutely bathe in Bergamot, I swear 🙂 Love meeting you — one doodler to another 🙂
Lovely to have you stop by. Bergamot is delightful isn’t it, and I’ve been using it lately mixed with a tiny bit of Lavender. It felt like a lovely way to ease from autumn overload into the more quiet time called forward by winter.
Hooray for the 1% of us in the world who are INFJs! I am taking an INFJ e-course now and it’s so interesting to learn about how we interact with our daily work. I enjoyed learning more about you!
Thanks Naomi. And I absolutely believe the more we know about ourselves and how we operate the better it is for everyone.
P.S. Would you be able to look in to something like a reply system so that when you respond to a comment, it e-mails us? I noticed in looking back at previous posts that you wrote back to me but I never even knew. I use a plugin called Comment Reply Notification on my blog. 🙂 Just a suggestion.
Well this is a lot of fun. I myself and a sucker for pretty packaging and as a Massage Therapist in training, I’m a big fan on essential oils as well. They do so much more than you’d imagine!
Yes essential oils are underrated magic in my book.
