is for notes
I’m a firm advocate that a gratitude practice should look exactly like you want it to. Something that feels right-fit for you. And it’s also my belief that once you start really dancing with the energies of gratitude you start planting your feet ever-more firmly on the joy trail. So if for no other reason than to than to uplift your own energy and vibration I think gratitude rocks.
But what it we extend it outside the realm of our personal journalings, our lists, our whispered or shouted thank yous, and sent tangible missives of gratitude out into the world?
And that my beautiful friends is what I mean by notes.
I am hopelessly old-fashioned. I love in-the-hand on-paper notes that hold the energy of whoever took the time to write and send them. They delight my heart. And it delights my heart to send them as well. I love sending messages into the world. It delights me to think of them as love letters.
What if we all sent love letters to one another? If we left a little note of gratitude for the waitstaff when they leave the bill for us to pay? If we tucked a note in the mailbox of our neighbor who surprised us by raking our leaves? When was the last time you told a friend how grateful you were for their friendship and support? And how fun would it be to send them a little surprise love note in the mail saying just that? Of course you don’t HAVE to send a note – you can use email or text and spread your love and express your gratitude that way as well. But notes and love letters are right-fit for me, and so their part of my practice.
I’m grateful to all those folks who read my blog and for those folks who choose to connect with me through my business – thank you all. And I’d love to send you some actual love notes. Interested? I have a kind-of-secret-you-have-to-look-for-it invitation up on my website. But ssshhh – here are the directions to find it: On my website (here if you’re not there already reading this post) look at the top banner for the Love Letters tab. Choose Free Resources from the drop down list, and then scroll down that page to the section Love Letters for You. Fill out the form with your snail address, and then someday, when you least expect it, a little love will show up in your mailbox. A little gratitude kiss from me to you.
What about you? What are you grateful for today? Who would you be sending a gratitude note to? Do tell – you know I love to hear.
Wowza. I really need to go back to writing notes. Of course. They used to give me great pleasure to both write and send. Somehow, I do most of my gratitude letters online. I love getting snail mail too. Thank you for the wake up call. Yet another!
I hope we won’t have to be explaining what snail mail is any time soon, like the bygone days of music on vinyl or cassette tapes. 😉
